• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Looking for an ECU out of a 2002-2003 golf/jetta TDI with part number 038 906 012 GN.

My current one has an RC2 tune on it, but am upgrading to a Malone stage 5, so I need to replace my ECU to do it :(

There are just too many to list....
Because I would not think the flash file was a "permanent" change, and could be rewritten over and over again.

I have had EDC15 (and 16, for that matter) ECUs rewritten before. Never been a problem.

No, Jeff locks it so noone else can use the ECU, according to tuners I have spoken with. I would have Jeff retune it, but he has not responded to my many emails, phone messages, and facebook post. I have been trying to contact him since mid August. He responded to one of my emails back in September asking what hardware changes I made, I promptly responded, as well as subsequently, but have not heard from him since. So it seems I have no other choice but to buy another ECU and pay a premium for someone else to tune it to my current hardware.

Have you overwritten any of Jeff's tunes before? All the tuners I have spoken with say it cannot be overwritten.

Yes, very frustrating for me. I went with him in part because he offered discounted upgrades when you change hardware.

We've over-written his files before  Probably need to ship it in though, welcome to try using a flashzilla and can return it for the shipping fee if it doesn't work. Also keep a bunch of these ECUs in stock.

It is possible to lock read/write on just about every ECU, bench tools typically over-power that.

Thats good news! My local Malone tuner is unable to do it, I call the next closest ones and see if they can. Thanks for the info!

I will still need another one of these ECU's because I am also doing a TDI in a Jeep conversion for my cousin and need an ECU for it. I will either use the RC2 tune for the Jeep and get the new one tuned or get my current one over written and the new one tuned to whatever we build the Jeep TDI into.

I would also take an ecu with a tune that works with my build and goals: (~200+whp and 32psi sustained)

Here is my hardware list:

2003 VW ALH Motor;

GTB 1756 VK turbo.
HFLO-X Race Nozzles @ .280
11mm Injector pump modified and rebuilt by Miles Gallie. He says it "has more timing than stock".
Frank06 ported/polished head with dual valve springs, stage II camshaft with .020 additional lift, 3 angle valve seats, nitrided cam followers.
R32 intake box (true 3 inch intake all the way to the turbo inlet).
Stock ALH MAF sensor installed into the 3" R32 MAF housing.
FMIC and hard turbo piping where possible.
4 bar MAP sensor.
Bored and decked.
Slightly lower compression over stock. (my stick out was right at the upper limit for a one hole head gasket, so I used the next size up (2 hole)).
Integrated Engineering forged rods.
Nural ASV style 80.0 mm bore pistons with Goetze rings.
ARP studs at the head, rods, and mains.
BRM oil pump gears.
2.5 inch cat back exhaust.
In tank lift pump.
Fluid harmonic dampener.

Trans:

South Bend stage 3 endurance clutch.
Peloquin LSD.
3.16 R&P.
.622 5th.
.890 custom 4th.
longer 1rst, 2nd, 3rd from a 1.8T gasser trans.

He's failed to respond to me as well. Bad news that he locks up the ECU. Fortuitously, in a fit of prescience, one arrived from Ebay yesterday with the same part #'s as my current one.

I'll skin this cat one way or another.

Shouldn't be a problem for either party, Jeff does good work but is a bit overwhelmed, sort of how Mark was two years ago (poor guy is still struggling to keep up). We work with those kinds of setups all the time and Giles has been a Malone distributor for years, Dave @ fastforward, S&P, and Randy over at tdconversions do these kinds of swaps regularly. You know where to find us if you'd like to work something out ;)

Liseed,

Quite the build sir! Very impressive engine work, I'm jealous. Lol, I'm just the kid brother in this case.
I do have a head that is due for a trip to Franko6, and a spare 11mm
IP that needs to go to Giles. Fluidampr should be here on Thursday,
along with some gauges. 2.5" exhaust in the works.

Tune is the current priority but.
What have you done to your suspension?

GMTA! {)

Not much, suspension is next on my list. I have the big brakes from a 20th Anniversary in the front. Love it, the car pulls my face off if I hit the brakes hard :). I have also installed new ball joints, tie-rod ends, and new control arms with TT bushings throughout. I will eventually add TT big brakes for the rear also.

Suspension is next on my list. I am still sorting through all the various opinions lol. My goal for suspension is to make mods that only improve handling. Not necessarily lowering it. Seems like there is a lot of 'opinions' as to whether lowering it actually improves handling. I guess I have to go to a track event sometime and talk to folks who track these cars and see for myself if lowering works or not. I would love to lower it slightly, only an inch and a half or so, BUT, only if it really does improve the handling. Also some kind of performance struts and springs.

I had a very stiff suspension on my previous 200whp Golf and that's what you need to limit wheelspin. You have an LSD, good, but, if the rear bumper hit the ground while the front end lifts up on an inspired start, you won't be as fast as you can be :)

I had a Bilstein BTS (Bilstein Sport with Race coils). For driving "comfort", I'd go with Sport springs next time but it was a blast to drive :)

Liseed,

I highly recommend the "What is Handling" thread;
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=133342

Then I'd suggest you have to decide what you're doing with the car.
Track? Drags? Fashion statement? Daily driver? Highway cruiser?

And take a look at Bob Mann (CNGVW), and his beetles.
Real race cars.

I lifted mine a bit, no rear swaybar but went heavier on the front.
Focus on wheels and tires. My Koni Reds are only a bit stiffer than stock, but went with heavier springs. I'm very happy with my "GT"
setup.

Your Mileage WILL Vary
