Will an airbag sensor fault prevent starting?

01222 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag; Passenger Side (G180)
37-00 - Faulty
Isn't that sensor on the floor near the back of the passenger seat?
The Ross-tech forum didn't mention a no-start symptom from it.
Probably a moisture issue.

I have another thread on the persistent no start issue. Last night I did a cranking session in vag and got intermittent implausible error codes on the cam and crank sensors. I figure if they're both messed up it won't start:

16725 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
P0341 - 000 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 147 /min
Torque: 98.0 Nm
Speed: 0.0 km/h
Load: 0.0 %
Voltage: 10.26 V
Bin. Bits: 00101000
Idle Stabilization: 0.0°KW
(no units): 3.0

16705 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
P0321 - 000 - Implausible Signal
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 126 /min
Torque: 252.0 Nm
Speed: 0.0 km/h
Load: 0.0 %
Voltage: 8.89 V
Bin. Bits: 00101000
Idle Stabilization: 0.0°KW
RPM: 63 /min

Check the wiring to those sensors. They plug in to the right of the oil filter canister.

I just looked at the read outs you posted, why is you voltage so low? It should read over 12v's.

I noticed that voltage also and figured it had dropped from cranking. Every time I go out to crank it, the battery voltage is between 12.3 and 13 keeping it charging. Tomorrow, I plan to pull the nose and check the crankshaft and timing belt with the pulley removed. The engine seems to crank normally so I doubt any burned pistons or valves or cam wear and it's full of antifreeze. I'll supercharge the battery and record it immediately after beginning cranking. Also considering plugging in another ecu from a known running engine and then maybe give up. I really wanted to get this car running to check the health of the tranny which shows no codes.
