I'm getting close to the mark, I hope to turn the 500,000 mile mark on July 12 2013, that the day I drove it off the lot 10 years ago. I just might have to do a road trip to get the need miles.
Just have a couple of beers, she'll look new again.
Cheers to that!Just have a couple of beers, she'll look new again.
Congrats! You drive more than I do and I log around 1k miles/week.I'm getting close to the mark, I hope to turn the 500,000 mile mark on July 12 2013, that the day I drove it off the lot 10 years ago. I just might have to do a road trip to get the need miles.
Interesting. I know in the A3/B4 models, the odo rolls over to 0 at 300k and "total" disappears from the display. It happened to a friend of mine, and he was wondering what was different about the dash. He looked at my car and realized it said "total" and his now didn't.Congrats! IIRC, with the Mk4 cars, from what I gleaned from another thread is the odometer rolls over to zero again at somewhere past 625k miles, whatever 1 million km (1 Gigameter) converts to in miles. The ECU and instrument cluster internally only know the distance in km and the instrument cluster simply displays the odo reading in miles for our convenience. Supposedly the odo rolls over to zero at 1 Gigameter. It is a tribute to these cars that we even need to worry about this problem at all.
Good luck.
Sounds good to me! Will there be beer?Maybe you should plan a GTG to celebrate.
Sounds like the perfect place to take a few shots with a camera...!I'll see if we can do something down here in the Tidewater area.
