last 2002 jetta i got i paid 300 for it :D
in really nice shape inside and out all it needs is a head and timing belt done.
losing count of how many i get like this.

car i have been driving now for a couple months took a chance on for 1700
all it needed was a hole patched in the bell housing of the dsg and a new flywheel. plus a lot of tlc! getting to love driving this one:)

Just bought my first TDI, 1999.5 Jetta. It had 307,xxx miles on it when I bought it and the timing belt had just been changed; picked it up for $1500. It's needed some work and still goes into limp mode above ~60mph but it's not bad overall.

2006 A5 Jetta. 430,000 kilometers. Just purchased from Gofaster. 3250.00. Body in great shape and has original cam:eek:. I bought with the following knowledge that 1) Egr cooler shot. 2) DMF and clutch shot. 3) timing belt and kit needed 4) strut thrust bearings which also ended up including springs and control links.

Total invested part wise including initial price is around 5500.00( mostly my labor). ASV, EGR, turbo intercooler system and vacuum hoses and sensors etc. are working perfectly as is. The original door harness and head assembly are my only concerns but will not put me on the side of the road. Looks like a small rad leak as noted when doing the transmission.

Because I could trust member Gofaster the transaction took place very quickly. Because the family has two cars now any trouble shooting will be much easier to do as I do not have vag-com although I wish I did.

Just picked up a 1999.5 Jetta TDI on Saturday(1/4/14) with 336,xxx miles for $1500. After seeing and driving it I felt more like I was stealing than buying it. Only a few cosmetic flaws. Guy took care of the car, proper maintenance and many parts replaced as preventative not reactive. Head only has 80,000 miles, timing belt only has 30,000, turbo replaced recenlty. Great tires and many new suspension parts recently. Needs new EGR and a good session with VAG-Com(as soon as I figure out what it is and where I can find someone with it).

99 New Beetle
picked up my 99 new beetle for $2500, came with a box of parts, timing belt, tensioner, rollers, bolts, new serp belt, new set of filters, gaskets for the intake cleaning. So far I've replaced the VNT actuator, put on the timing belt and serp belt, fixed 2 broken wires in the driver side door keeping the window from working and I just ordered new radiator fans as mine are both junk.
I really like this car, it's easy to work on and fun to drive.

cleaned the intake manifold and EGR 5-2-14
WOW what a difference

I bought my 04 Beetle with the DSG and 148k miles on the clock. Very clean car with all service documentation since new. 30k on TB. I gave $3250 and had to replace the DSG and both front axles for $4900 more. It puts me into this car for $8250 but I'm in love with my bug.

$10500 2005 Jetta Wagon GLS Tdi 125 K on the ticker "well maintained" (I'm going to redo most). Felt like a lot, but it really turned out to be $1525 pre tax/dealer fees trade in for a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 2WD Double Cab with 170K.

I bought the Tdi as I am a Diesel Lover, have a big A$$ truck and wanted something more efficient yet still "sporty," and the trade in seemed fair enough. 1 week in, don't regret it yet...

Bought my 03 Golf TDI GLS almost a year ago

200000km (125,000 miles), after taxes I paid 4500 Canadian and the car had all the service records from VW since the previous owners had bought the car in 2008. Sounds like a fantastic deal, and it was, but it did come with it's issues which at this point doesn't make the car seem like that good of a deal anymore...

Just paid $4200 for my 03 Golf 5spd two weeks ago. 212k miles, one owner, has all service records, new tires & timing belt 25k ago, so I was comfortable w/ the higher price.

$2200 for mine, 350K, mint interior and exterior, tires aprox 70%. I've done alot of work to it but being a shop, I get parts at cost and labour is free.

I've done, link kits, sway bar bushings, tie rods, left axle, lowered it, painted the wheels, egr/cat delete, cleaned intake, belt, recharged the a/c-was a bit low, rear shocks, oil change. Total into it for now, about $2600.

2002 TDI (ALH) with 513,000 km. First Owner and very happy... No Problems, never left us stranded on the Highway. Average useage is about between under 4 ltr. and 5 ltr. Normal longdistance travel: 4.1/100
Paid in 2002 at a Dealer in BC (still living in Alberta at that time) a little over 28,000 can. Dollars for 1 of the 3 new in Western Canada available TDI's. In Edmonton they wanted over 31,000. So Hans got no commission. Sorry !
Car is built in Brazil with German parts etc.

Around $4200 for a 2001 Jetta GL 5-speed with 230,000 on the ODO. A bunch of extra parts, Bentley, and an extra set of wheels was included in that as well. Complete service records and a Texas car (no rust).

5500.00 for a 2000 beetle with 96K miles, rust free Utah/TX car. Going to put about 2K into it in the next month to bring it up to snuff but after that I bet it will last 10 years.

$9750 for a 2005 Jetta wagon. 218,000 k on the car and 40,000 on the engine with VNT-17, sport clutch and a reprogram. It took over 6 months to find it. Pretty good shape with some issues that VW should take care of. First VW and Diesel. Loving it so far.
