Picked up a 2000 Jetta TDI GLS 5-speed (226k) about 2 weeks ago for $1,400.00. It needs a throwout bearing, but I'm going to do a full clutch and TB change as long as I have it apart.

I picked up a 3 owner 2004 Jetta TDI GL 5 spd. Gray w/105,868 mi. on it for $8,200.00 with a Clean Carfax. I may have paid to much, but I am keeping it for the longhaul and I just went 620.7 mi. on 13.01 gal. of Winter Blend fuel. All country and city driving. (small city).

Im not sure why everyone feels the need to justify why they paid what they did for there car. There is a reason you pay a little more for a quality car, especially a TDI because of the fact that maintenance is so important to these cars. If you find one that has been taken care of properly then it is worth more just on longevity alone. You truly do get what you pay for.

Anyway my most recent purchase is another 98 Jetta with 242k miles. Body is very solid with no rust and the interior is in good shape as well as the headliner is perfect, even has the original floor mats. I paid 1200$ for it but is in need of about 1000$ in maintenance, so 2200 not to bad for a solid car.

2002 Jetta GLS 5-speed. 243k miles. Purchased from original owner in non running condition for $1400. Full maintenance records for the life of the car. Body and interior are pretty rough. No rust southern car, just a few dents and some fading. It's going to need plenty of TLC. I suspect an o-ring kit for the IP may solve the no-start problem. /me crosses fingers

Edit: IP head o-ring was bad. Replaced it using the diesel geek kit and it runs like a top.

02 Jetta TDI GLS auto. 143,000 miles. Came with 3 inch thick folder filled with receipts and service records (priceless)!! Used trans installed 10k miles ago and timing belt service just done. Needed N75 hose and horn. Tires are bout ready to go too. Otherwise, mechanically very sound. Paint is fair at best but looks great if you are 15 ft away or driving by at 55 mph!! �� Interior is pretty good. Just needs a little tlc. I am 3rd owner. 2nd guy only had it for a couple months. Over all I am very happy with the car. Haven't had it long but look forward to many miles in my Jetta TDI! Paid $4500

And now I just picked up a White 2006 Jetta TDI Package 2 w/ Black Leather w/183k on it. Mint Condition with clean title and all the service records & newer good year tires for a whopping $7,177. Pretty good deal I think!

First post here. Snagged an 01 Jetta GLS auto with 374,500km for $1200. Starts perfect, runs great but the first time it builds boost goes into limp mode. Suspect VNT system, and MIL illuminated. Rebuilt transmission and recent belt change. Body has some rust here and there but can't see it while saving $200 a month of fuel.

2 months ago I bought a 2000 gls. Found on craigs list, at a shop, owner couldn't afford to fix. Didn't return my call right away, so I went lookin'. Found it at the first shop I came to (Not hard to do in this county).
Talked to the owner of the shop, they put ten hours into it, couldn't get it to run, car sat there for 8 months.
Bought it from the owner for $1200. Had it towed to my place, was driving it in about an hour. Now my wife's daily driver. Best part of the story, is I get to sell the MINI, Which I never wanted(she did) and I have had no desire to work on.

I bought my 1999 Mk4 TDI new back in April of 99. Don't remember the exact price but it was under $20k, $19,600 or thereabouts. Fully loaded with the exception of the heated seat and wiper jet option. If memory serves me, the list was over $23k but a nice discount through my employer and over 1,200 points on a VW credit card brought it down quite a bit.

Just turned 200k miles last month and still going strong. Doing some long overdue upgrades to the suspension, then some minor body work, a sportier front bumper, a small spoiler, new paint and some new wheels and tires. A fresh look and feel for the next 200k!

just bought a 2004 Golf GL TDI Manual for $7000 last week. Bought from the original owner who had it dealer serviced it's entire life, I have the folder with every receipt including the window sticker! Only has 89K and needs a couple little things like the headlights de-fogged, driver seat needs new foam on the door side, but that's it really. Pic is after I de-fogged the lights, looks waaaay better! now to get some better rims for it!

99.5 silver jetta tdi manual. $600 plus copart and shipping fees. Working on it now. Needs windshield some body work. I replaced the suspension, bearings all-way-round, calipers..fluid was green when I replaced it. Yes flushed it. Timing belt job done. Gonna replace the injector seals as one leaks.

Car didn't come with a radio. Windshield cracked...looks like a branch fell on it by looks of roof. Slight front bumper damage. Headrest someone overlaid black over the grey. I have another headliner from a wreck to use.

$800 or plus copart fees for a 2000 2 door golf. Needed radio, right front fender. Hood and roof peeling. Some idiot put gas in it. Swapped out injectors. Waiting NYS inspection for 907A. paperwork in...awaiting my inspection.
