At the very least try the keys you have, there aren't that many different key combinations for VW door handle lock cylinders.
If you have any other VW keys try them too.

Your best bet is to re-pin your new handle to match your existing key.

The hard part is getting the lockset out without the key. I've had marginal success picking them.

Bingo, on the B4 handles it's almost impossible to remove the lock cylinder without the key and you must do that in order to setup with your existing key.
One reason I keep any old VW/Audi keys around...

I did manage to unlock two junkyard cars over the years with keys I gathered, which was a pile from the junkyard.
