This is awesome.

How does one go about getting the engine to run standalone like this? I would think there would be some major hurdles to jump.

Also, what kinda of transmission is that? Porsche? Is some sort of adapter plate user to bolt it to the ALH block?

Pardon my ignorance, but I would love to learn these things.

It is a VW/Audi 01E 6 speed transmission used in those cars that have the engine longitudinal instead of transverse, such as the Passat B5 & B5.5, Audi A4 & A6, etc.

Stupid easy to make an ALH standalone. TD Tuning or Malone can set up the ecu for you. The wiring is extremely simple in a minimalist install like this.

As sailor said, it's a non quattro trans from a tdi audi a4, a6, or passat from europe.

Your going to be ready for the 13 hour this year? See you there, pretty sweet ride. I'll look forward to checking it out.

Why so much tire in the front? or are those only to make it a roller?

I think you got it right Aaron. They don't look like track tires, or wheels for that matter, to me at least. I might try to make it down to VIR to check this out.

There are just too many to list....
Nice job, Matt! What engine management bits is it getting? I assume you got a pretty tall geared trans?

Nice work! I like the bellcranks for the shocks. How did you do those long bends for the main tubes?

p.s. don't forget the Gurney Flap on that rear wing...
