My docs were approved on 10/31. Still waiting...
VW had time to worry about a streamlined process yet can't get ours correct? I think you have too much faithI'm pretty sure there's a streamlined process for that company, and for any other large fleet owners.
12/2 appointment scheduled for...2015 Audi A3 lease termination:
10/13 docs uploaded
10/31 same docs uploaded again because I changed my mind from fix to termination
11/16 green checkmarks
11/30 offer letter received, notarized, PDF'd and uploaded
Is this with VW Credit? Isn't there a grace period? With actual loans there is...12/2 appointment scheduled for...
12/21 at 9:00am (earliest available date) - note lease payment date is the 18th.. ffs. Oh well, could be worse.
Seriously? And I uploaded mine on 9/23 and they've not been looked at. This really blows.I submitted my documents electronically yesterday morning. Within 4 hours I had an email back telling me my documents had been accepted.
Update: I should have added that I uploaded the first set of documents the claims center asked for on Oct. 27th. Exactly 2 weeks later I get the "Documents accepted" and they buyback offer - which was for $25907.78. So all those buyback calculators were 'off' by $.78! I paid cash OTD $24,974. So I'm getting 'paid' almost $1000 for driving a very nice car 22k miles over 3+ years? What a country!I got the offer letter Friday the 11th - sent via fax my acceptance papers on Sunday the 13th. The portal info for me still says its waiting for my fax.
Anyone know how long faxes sit idle before the next step is available? Which is scheduling a buyback day/time I think. This process seems overly slow IMO. Just an observation.

Just looking at the spreadsheet and my own timeline it looks like VW/Claims center have arbitrarily paced most of us along this process at two week intervals. Oct 27th - a Friday - Nov 11th - a Friday - Nov 25th - a Friday - next? That would be the final acceptance and "go here to schedule your buy back date" should be next - and this coming Friday - Dec. 9th! Each step a two week/10 business day pace.
It took my faxed & notarized documents exactly 2 weeks (or 10 working days if you like) to be accepted - which occurred on Nov. 25th - one day after turkey day. Same speed as others that did the upload - same two week - 10 working/business days period. Each time I tried to upload my PDF (5-6 times) I got an Error Code: 403 each time. I'm guessing that I'll get the "Documents accepted" (finally!) on Dec. 9th - this coming Friday.
Faxing your paperwork neither speeds up nor slows down this process for you. The ones that have already scheduled their buyback did nothing different - they were the 'guinee pigs' - the ones that were selected - probably randomly - to see how smoothly this process was going to be - how long it takes etc. Now that the buyback people have gotten some experience at this and know what to expect I think things may be speeding up. We shall see.
I contacted the dealer where I bought my TDI and will be doing the buyback. I asked the sales gal if they have a buyback 'ambassador' in-house - she said yes - he's been here for 'about a week' and that they had several buybacks scheduled for that day - Thursday IIRC. At any rate I'm guessing I'll be able to offload my car somewhere about the end of Dec or first few weeks in January. I'll update when I get more information. Friday I hope.
Yes. Once you reach that stage they go through the process of determining your eligibility, then that is vetted by an external auditor, then an offer letter is drafted. Each of those three actions could take anywhere from 10 to 30 business days depending on which way the wind is blowing at Claims Processing HQ.What exactly do the green checkmarks in the portal mean? Am I already deemed eligible to complete the settlement and am just waiting for an offer?
Well 30 days is only being used now because the clock didn't start running on anyone until November 1st which would make this day 25 for the longest person out there. I am sure once we get 31 business days the timeline will change again.Yes. ...and are prohibited from participating in the process for any number of reasons, as has been discussed here several times.Dealers are bored, they do this crap everyday.
Actually 22 from 11/1 which is the date for the start.Monday was 30 business days after docs were accepted.
Nothing
I agree. VW credit handles tons of new loans everyday. The dealers handled tons of trade ins before the scandal occurred. They got rid of the CEO of VW North America because he gave out the gift cards. Now they got some guy who is trying to make this is a hard for VW owners as possible. If they aren't doing this on purpose than they are clearly incompetent and the guy in North America should be fired.I am not understanding why VW is stalling here. The amount of hoops they put up is unnecessary. They don't need to hire more people. That's just a BS excuse to stall this process and drag it out for another 6 months to a year. Dealers are bored, they do this crap everyday. Verify ownership and agreed upon amount, plug it in to a program to verify the vehicle qualifies, verify the vehicle runs and was driven in, get a payoff, notarize the "I hold not future claims for the vehicle, power of attorney for the title. EBT or check in the mail. Done.
Whatever fees the dealers would charge for this service would be at worst case a wash.
VW clearly has an agenda here, and it's not to win back customers. Is the judge tooo stupid to see this?
