jetta 03 or 04

01 beetle, 04 jetta pd
i have the option to get a 03 or 04 jetta, i kinda torn right now, both pretty much the same 125k, gls, 5-speed...is there a big difference in emission stuff.......which would you choose and why...thankyou for your time

Although the PD engine in the 2004 has some fans, most around here would opt for the 2003...

It would be nice to know the service history of both cars - and that's an important consideration... Also, it's strongly advised around here that if you're not absolutely certain of when and how the timing belt system was changed, you get someone known to do this correctly to change it ASAP...

I would go with whatever car is in nicer condition and has been better maintaned.

The 04 has nicer exterior upgrades with the R/W/R/W tails and chrome trim.

Really, just drive each and pick the one you like better.
