Thanks for that. Does mobile1 have a 507 rated oil? Spent the last couple of weeks here in podunk southern NM looking to no avail.

I just used my google-foo and found 5W-30 ESP. That appears to be 507 rated?

If your 2014 Jetta TDI has a particulate filter, then the 5w30 ESP should work just fine. If you've hit a big pothole and your DPF fell off, then the 5w40 would be better.

Ya, TR I still got my DPF so I found 5W-30 ESP at Auto Zone. Waiting on 4/1 now.

Mobil has a $7/gallon rebate from April 1 to May 31, 2023, but unfortunately a limit of only two gallons.

The specs for Delvac 1 ESP 5w40 are almost identical to Mobil Turbo Diesel Truck. Some might say Delvac 1 is slightly better, but if so it's by a slight margin.

I wanted to follow up on this. Currently Napa has Delvac 1 ESP 5w40 for $26/gal. Then compound that with the $7/gal rebate and it comes out to $19/gal before tax! I bought 2 gallons today and my rebate for $14 is already approved.

There was an Advance Auto (edit: not AutoZone) next to the hardware store, so I stopped in. My experience: 5L jug marked $40-something on the shelf, but "price checked" at $20-something at the register, and revealed to be $10.33 on the register screen as a "purchase price." They only had a single of the LL, but quite a bit of the other flavors.

Pricing seems to be based on location. I was able to lock in and checkout at the $24.47 price when shipping to my order to Nevada. The cart price increased when I tried shipping to California. Let's see if the order is actually processed and delivered.

Seems to go back and forth between 63.xx and 24.xx... shows the 63.xx for me now. I ordered two cases (3x5qt) last Thursday & delivered on Sat for about 53 with tax... then price jumped back to 63.XX, then yesterday it was back to 24.xx so I ordered two more cases and these are supposed to be here 4/2.

I just checked again using the link above, and it shows the 3-jug pack out of stock. If I followed the oil selector down to this oil, only single jugs are available for $27.97 each.

So if you see a price in the mid $20's, make sure it's the 3-jug pack and not a single jug.
