Not an if but a when this chinese tensioner will let go?

Local shop. Charges more than what I do. Replaces belt and tensioner only. Mark and pray. Timing WAY off. Sad.

That's pretty bad, but I see stupid repair efforts all the time. Did a full suspension refresh this week on a really clean new-to-my-customer MKIV. Someone had replaced the driver side ball joint for the previous owner with a passenger side one. No wonder it handled "funny".

Because of stuff like that I am developing an appreciation for working on newer model TDIs. Its nice to work on cars that no one has made a mess of yet.

Well, I won't blame the (chinese) tensioner when the TB systems blows up.
