WTB: Jetta or Golf TDI under $8k. Hopefully West Coast because I'll be shipping to Hawaii.

I'm looking for a Golf or a Jetta TDI, automatic or manual, and my budget is between $7k and $8k, plus shipping to Maui, HI. At that price it cannot be on the verge of needing a timing belt or other expensive work.

Rich, welcome aboard! That sounds like a tall order. I hope you can hook up with one of your local TDi guys - - perhaps they can explain the fundamentals of supply/demand. There seems to be quite an active HI contingency.

yeah, may be a tall order, but that's the cash I have to deal with. can't hurt to ask around, huh? I do expect it to be older with a few more miles. I do expect it to be older with some miles on it.

I think there was a 2000 tdi golf 5 speed with about 175K listed on aztdiclub a while back for about 7,ooo but it sold that day to a local,,,,good luck!!!!!
