Worn down remote fobs

I have 2 remote fobs on my 03 Wagon that work. The remotes are really worn down looking...look like they spent time in acetone...all shiny and faded.

What is the simplest and cheapest way to make these look better? I saw some remote covers on Amazon or something like that for peanuts.

I also have a set of remotes from my 02 Sedan that are in pristine shape but only one starts the ignition and was thinking of swapping bits and bobs over but started getting confused during the process and gave up.

Thanks.

Just replace the externals.

Beware -- the little glass RFID chip has to be transplanted, or you need the SKC to pair a new one. You CAN get it out of there, but it's not easy. Just be CAREFUL.
