I knocked my lower bumper lip off a while back, and never got around to putting it back on. I think I'll leave it off for the winter. I'll probably just end up knocking it off hitting snow, anyway. Anybody else intentionally leave their's off for the winter? Any downside to leaving it off? I think it looks okay without it.

My summer wheels have center caps, but my winter steelies don't. I can now see my hub nuts in the front, and I'm concerned that they'll get badly corroded from road salt. I've never had to take the hubs/rotors apart, so I have no experience there, but those nuts look like a bad deal to get all rusty. Are there supposed to be caps over them? We get magnesium chloride on the roads here that's even worse than rock salt.

You could get a can of spray lithium grease and go to town on those axle ends and nuts. It will leave a residue that has reasonable sticking power, and will protect the axle ends and axle nuts from excessive corrosion.
