I have some 195/65 15 Goodyears on now. I may or may not leave them on the golf for the buyback. If I leave them on, I'll use the original 17's as snow rims for an alltrack.

Thanks for that info. Looking at a GTI to replace the Jetta. Still going to sell the Jetta back with the steel snows on it, but I will probably sell the factory aluminum rims if they wont fit the GTI

Did you ever find a set? I have a set of snow tires mounted on rial rims. I can check the tread depth but if I had to guess I'd say about 70% on all 4. It also comes with 2 additional snow tires. They only have 200 miles on them.

Two weeks ago, dealership in Rome NY had four (4) new Generals mounted on steel wheels for $600 two weeks ago. I have used similar tires on my 2012 TDI SportWagen -- I since moved them to my 2014 TDI SportWagen (now parked in yard until 17 December lease termination appointment) and most recently to my wife's 2014 MK6 Jetta (they all use the same wheels). They handle well in Upstate NY winters and wear well.
