not sure where to post this so i will start here,
thinking about buying a vag com, have a 01 golf and a 06 jetta right now a i need a key programed and have a air bag light on , thought i might save some money in the long run and learn something at the same time . have a small laptop, what kind of money ? where do I get it? thanks all help appreciated.

Ross tech is where you need to get it unless you find a used Ross tech. I think you'll need the hex-can USB to be able to use it on both cars. But you can searched the Ross tech website for that.

I second this sentiment. I only have VCDS Lite (Registered Version) and a homebrew interface, but it should serve about 95% of most people's needs up through 2005 models from what I understand.

I've got the Ross-Tech key-usb and laptop running Vag-Com, I'm willing to help folks out with scanning, adapting, clearing codes, etc. I live in Los Banos, CA and work in Sunnyvale, CA.
