spacer sizing

hello everyone, im wondering what size spacers i need to achieve the "flush" look on my mk4 golf. im running 17x7 rims et35 i believe. if someone could give some insight as to what size spacers i need for flush that would be great. thanks.

I have 40 et and 17x7.5 and i did 5mm front and 20mm back. seems I could go more as it is not as flush. just to give you an idea.
