Higher idle speed = Less vibration at idle, Faster warmup at idle, More fuel consumption at idle

I don't know the spec for idle speed, but I'd guess anything between 850 and 1k RPM is reasonable.

I wouldn't mess with the idle speed: I start up and start driving asap. I idle it just long enough to snap the seat belts and find reverse. That means scrape off the windows and front windshield without the car running, leaving the mirrors and hatch for the defroster.

It takes about 3 miles of driving to hit temp, but it would take much longer if I tried to warm it up by idling.

I'm considering raising mine to 875 or 900 because that little bit of throttle is all it takes to eliminate a lot of the vibrations from my stiffer engine mounts. I hate rattling at traffic lights.

Raising it for warmup speed would be silly, but it is a side effect that it warms up a tiny bit faster.
