Today I drove over to visit BoraTDI. He shot a few photos of his excellent 2 door Golf. He's using Classic car wax with a coat of hardener on top. It sure did shine like brand new. What a great looking car ... and a super friend. As much as I love the car, this site is more about people than about cars. Here are some photos that BoraTDI shot.

Notice the obvious glimmer of light off the front fender on BoraTDI's Golf. If you look closely at his side panel you can see the reflection of my Jetta like it's parked next to a red mirror.

Bora commented on how the airflow on the Golf tends to pick up soot. Might have something to do with the more square back end, perhaps that the tip of the muffler is under the vehicle. Might also have to do with the fact that we just don't get the highest quality diesel fuel in the USofA.

Here's the man himself. After taking a ride in this car, I am convinced the automatic provides lots of pep. Bora takes a slight hit on fuel economy, but he will never have to worry about the clutch slipping, that's for sure.

Wow! I should have showered and dressed for the occasion - I look rough! By the way, that's KLASSE polish - but it does provide a CLASSIC shine
Thanks to David for getting the pics up as I lost my TDI Image Server password and haven't contacted Rich about it (Rich ya listening? I need my password!)

Smithers, I used to drive the Bora that Valois now drives as the RoadWarrior. The car was virtually destroyed by an errant deliver van last March, and he bought the wreck and rebuilt it. The Golf is the replacement, and I like my "Screenname Seniority" and didn't want to change it, LOL.

PS: if you look at the "before" pics, you will notice that I am walking around the car, getting stuff out of it. I was hit at 50mph by a 5000 pound van, and the front doors still opened and I walked away. That's a large part of the reason I bought another A4-platform car.

Yikes. I must not have been paying attention. I would have remembered that for sure.

Screen name seniority? My my, how vain.

Anyway, glad you're o.k.

Every time I get back on this website, I check in for the Golf TDI pix. And unfailingly, I end up with the strong desire to get one.

It's a truly dangerous thing.

So, BoraTDI, congratulations on reviving the dream. Verdammt. Now my priorities are tempted again.

Gorgeous car.
