I'm going to look at a set of front seats tomorrow and will have to remove them myself. I want to confirm that they come out the same way as A4 golf and jetta's. Two trim screws in back, remove front bolt and slide back to take out.

You are correct, the B5 Passat seats are removed just like the A4 VW's.

Yup, exactly the same way as an MKIV Jetta/golf.

Same as an A4. Two nuts in the front-not bolts. 2-3 electrical connections.2 w/o heated seats. Buy power ones out of a GLX if you want real comfort.

FYI, I have seen some with 13mm nuts and some with T45 torx bolts holding them in. Take both tools with you.
