Hi, im new to the vw community, i just acquired a 2002 vw Jetta tdi with bad auto, and made a transmission swap with an 02M 6 speed manual. Car running fine, but shifting feels notchy, it shifts great, it just doesn’t feel smooth, maybe that is the way the transmission shifts. Any insight?

Do you mean the shifter is notchy or the gears themselves? What gear oil do you have in there?
Could be you just need to adjust the shift cables, could be your "new" transmission needs new bushings somewhere around the stick.

Thanks for the reply, i think its the shifter , i have no problem getting it into all the gears it just feels like i have to put extra strength to change them , im running Valvoline syncromesh MTF.

Has the hydraulic system been bled?
Yes it was, because the slave cylinder was replaced.

Replace trans lube with Synchromesh lube.
