New to the TDI world

I just purchased a 2014 TDI with a 6-speed manual transmission with 61,000 miles. The vehicle has not had the emissions recall done yet, and I am wondering if I should have this done? The vehicle has a repair title and was told it was salvaged due to the downpipe being stolen in the middle of the scandle. I'm just wondering what are the pros and cons of having the recall done. Thank you for any guidance on this.

Your not going to get anything for having the recall done. I believe getting the extended warranty program is over.

Cons: you will get less fuel economy with the recall, the car will do regens more often causing quicker cracking and failure of the DPF and EGR systems.

The only pros for getting the recall was when VW was giving $5000 restitution to owners for getting it done and giving them an extended warranty.

If it was my car I would not get the recall done and drive it like it is.
