Wifes passat has 205/55 x 15 on the alloy wheels.

Seems like there is enough space in the wheel wells to go with 205/65 x 15 .... any thoughts/experience on this?

If your shocks are stiff enough then it is fine - mine are not and I have to slow down at bumps. Despite of this I used 195/65/15-s for 15,000 km and 205/55/16-s for another 5,000. Do you have the VR6 control arms or the original ones?

Not sure on the control arms. The guy over in Mass who did the TDI swap on this GLX I now had to replace the springs .... Car was not riding right after taking the V6 out and putting the TDI in.

Maybe I will do the shocks in back and struts in front first.

It might rub a little at full turns. I also think that 205-65-15 are too tall and you won't get an accurate reading on your speedometer.

Nice looking wagon btw.

Just my $0.02 :)

I'm running 195-60-15 on my glx suspension. I'm pretty sure you have the GLX control arms if they used the GLX knuckles and axles and ball joints. My speedometer is spot on to every radar road construction I go through. No tire rub except a little on really hard dips. I wouldn't go any bigger or wider than that or you'll have hard steering issues.

Cool, thanks for the post. I will give this size a shot and report back for others benefits.
