My 2014 Golf is missing the upstream NOx trap cat. I realize there appear to be no aftermarket alternatives for this cat, however couldn't I add any Diesel NOx reducing Cat that would provide appropriate flow? I'm in PA so I don't need the OEM serial number, but I do need my CEL off, system readiness and visually a Cat where one belongs. I'm finding a lot of fairly new take offs from Europe on Ebay with the 5Q0254300N part number. These appear to be similar to what we have on 2015 TDI's in North America. Can anyone confirm if the 2015+ 2.0 TDI's used NOx trap filters? I'm willing to fab something if it will perform the same function.
