Mk4 plastic emergency brake button cap

The chromed plastic button on my emergency brake flew off, and I can't find it. Is it possible to get one without buying a handle assembly? If so, anyone know where I can get one?

I looked into this recently for a friend. I don't think you can buy the plastic piece separately. The closest you can get is the whole spring mechanism with the button attached. This also means you have to remove the hand brake:

Another option might be to go to a junk yard with a pair of pliers and a cloth (so you don't damage anything) and try and yank the button off of another hand brake. I've never tried this but it sounds plausible.

Mine came off similarly, though I was lucky enough to find it a week or two later under my seat. I super-glued it back on.
