The chromed plastic button on my emergency brake flew off, and I can't find it. Is it possible to get one without buying a handle assembly? If so, anyone know where I can get one?
I looked into this recently for a friend. I don't think you can buy the plastic piece separately. The closest you can get is the whole spring mechanism with the button attached. This also means you have to remove the hand brake:
OK...so it's been some time i know but...i'll come through... Just been too busy upgrading and working [job, my car and other people's cars] to raise more $$ for mods  Here comes the official "How to swap the button Assembly on your Hand Brake - works same way on both 99.5-03 and 04-06...

Another option might be to go to a junk yard with a pair of pliers and a cloth (so you don't damage anything) and try and yank the button off of another hand brake. I've never tried this but it sounds plausible.
First-ever mod I did on my Mk4 (over 15yrs ago) was replacing the (perfectly fine and functional) plastic parking-brake button with one from an R32 - brushed aluminum, baby!!!! (Part #: 1J0711323D4J4)
