Isn't this a "stealership" no-no?

So, 12 hours after we uploaded the notarized buyback document to VW and scheduled the return of our vehicle (a mere 2 hours later!) at a different dealership I get this. Pretty sleazy and I suspect VW sold my email (which they claim right on the web portal during one of the last steps that they won't do), since this is not our preferred dealership. There's a reason we don't use this dealership and drive to one further away.

Also, since when can we contact buyback ambassadors directly to have questions answered? Wow, that would have been nice!

Our local dealer (Sheehy Volkswagen of Springfield, Virginia) just sent us an "appraisal offer" for our 2012 Passat (pretty standard mailer/fishing attempt hoping for suckers). They are happy to pay us $11,000 for it if we buy a new car from them. Our buyback amount value is $17,500, so Sheehy can go screw themselves.

We got our scheduler maintenance reminder on a car we sold back.

"With great technology can come great pain."

I think that was an ancient Chinese proverb or something

Wow, that seems like a good way to totally destroy any goodwill from current or potential customers.

I still get these for the 2006 Passat I traded in almost 4 years ago. I think they are auto generated, probably by a 3rd party, and the dealer just has them sent out in their name. They are not cross checking their data or that it is even a TDI.

This is more ineptness and laziness than the dealer trying to take advantage (they cannot sell back and get the higher amount anyway).

(This is in reply to the $11k appraisal and not the .0 OP post)

The "ambassador" is not the same as the buyback specialist from the third party.
"Ambassador" is just a fancy name for a sales lead IIRC and is an employee of the dealership.
