How to scratch your window glass

Its been cold for three weeks. Intermittant snow showers with salted and sanded roads. No time for a car wash. Dried salt crystalises all over the car, in every crease and crevice. The window glass looks as if a flock of seagulls have emtied their bowells all over the car.

Now you try to roll a window down, and the sound of a cat burgular using a diamond screams above the stereo. Its that easy.

I have never seen this written about before so hopefully I can save someone the the pain of hearing this sound. I have three, three inch scratches on the drivers window glass, courtsey of three grains of sand. My guess is the crystalized salt bound the sand to the edge of the rubber weatherstrip on the door. Now I will never move a window in this condition without first washing the car.

Skypup and the Florida crew will hopefully not experience these conditions.

Jimmy, Thanks for the heads-up.
Maybe you can buff out the scratches?
