41, car's lowered. Maintenance is a little more tricky, but low-profile jack & short stands are a great help!

41 here....one car is lowered a bit (sedan), other isn't. I drive the sedan, mostly, and sometimes feel a little weird being my age in a lowered car. Maybe a little too much 'bling' for me. Sometimes, I think a man my age and career point should be driving a newer/nicer car..but, oh well :D

Aren't us 40 year olds supposed to be heading into mid-life-crisis?

Might be time to do those upgrades, or get a Porsche or Corvette.;)

Then there's the whole infidelity thing. Can't say that I haven't been sorely tested over the years, but I think I'll stick with my misses.

When I hit 45, I'll just channel it all into upgrading the cars....some more.:)

ha, I hear ya. I think, in the end, I also drive the MKIV because it's in my price-range....my mid-life self wants an Aston Martin, but he's a crazy person...

That is one good thing about getting older....having more money to play with, more or less.;)

But for some it's not a good thing...

Last year I was at the dealer (our good dealer) talking to the head mechanic about something. And there was this brand new black Porsche boxter behind us in the garage that someone started up. It was spouting smoke like crazy out of the exhaust.

I asked him what the deal was with that....
Apparently the dude who owned it, bought it and then immediately had some shop add a turbo and a bunch of other high HP upgrades to it. Blew the seals on the engine I guess. Doesn't sound like he got very far after the upgrades. The mechanic was really impressed (Not) with having to fix it.
We got talking about adding turbos to engines that don't already have them.

The Porsche owner was in that mid-life-crisis age range.

OK, I'm jumping in here at 61. And it looks good that I'll make 62 in December. ;)

I don't think I'm going to be lowering my TDI, I don't mind the looks of it stock.

My first diesel was an '85 Ford Escort 5 spd. My dad bought it new and when he passed away, I got it. Still have it, but it needs serious work. Michigan winters took a big toll on it and the engine spewed white smoke so i parked it.:(

39 years young :)

I learned to drive 20+ years ago in an old Merc 190D Manual. It has taken those 20+ years for me to get back in a diesel of my own. I've driven diesel pick up trucks over the years for work and such.

I'm just loving my TDI and have not had this much fun with a car in years.

All you young punks. I turned 59 this past July and I think I'll stay there for a few more years.
