Glow plugs (ceramic or not?)

Ok, I'm lost. Searching this forum has confused me but I have a #1 glow plug failure message (via VCDS) and a CEL. My confusion is based upon conflicting statements as to whether the '06 MkVs have ceramics or not. In searching here I have found that some say yes, others say no.

So here's the question...... Is there a definitive way to tell whether or not I have ceramics BEFORE I begin trying to remove it? ( build date 11/05)

Glow plug

Here is another worm-I removed one of glow plugs on 06 and it was a NGK. Went on internet and there is no where you can find that plug. It is a 7 V plug so my guess would be it is also ceramic. The dealer only has it. Kerma will do a reflash of your ECU to accept 5 volt steel plugs. Never did get an answer on how much the reflash is. You have to ship your ECU to him and don't know what the turn around is.
