Gk ecu?

Will this GK ECU work in a 96 replacement for a BK ECU? I know the GQ will work, but not sure if this GK from finland is compatable. Part # is almost the same. Just ends in K instead of a Q:

I would guess "no", since it's European. It may have an immobilizer in it.

Looks like it is for a 1997 B5 Passat so it won't work.

It's software boots on a 'FA' ECU, which likely means that you just need to burn BK software to the chips. I've personally verified over 2 dozen stock tunes that boot. The only question is if it's fully electrically compatible.

You're in a remote location so it's not like I can directly help, but with a reference BK ECU, I can make sure that it's identical. I've converted over a GL ECU to be identical to a FA ECU. Then again my hot air rework station is on the fritz and I've not had time to fix it lately.
