Can anyone assit with the following:
Well i took the plunge and did it, however I have not yet done the relay mod for the airbag light.
Just a note for anyone reading this and thinking of doing it, when you set the Canbus coding to ABS only ie 00002 the airbag light never comes on. If however you decide to put the correct cluster back in ie NON Canbus the airbag light will still remain off.
In which case before you remove the canbus cluster set the canbus coding back to 00006 ie ABS and Airbag.
Caused a bit of a panic that did.
VWFlappie: If as you say I set the CanBus coding to 00002 (ABS only) is that disabling the airbags? as the light doesnt come on, also like the above when the original cluster is fitted back in why does it stay off?
Also can the gurus answer why I cant change the soft coding for the cluster at the moment its got:
Seatbelt warning,Brake pad wear warning, Washer fluid warning.
I can't seem to change the soft coding for the cluster it always reverts back to what its set to.
Is this because the battery voltage has to be above 12.5v, or isit something else.
