Selling the family Beetle. Has been owned by either us or my folks and used sparingly for ~6 years.
1998 ALH Beetle. 5 speed manual. 250K/400TKM. Black on black leather.
In the last 10-15K miles it has had a very thorough amount of maintenance:
- rebuilt cylinder head
- full timing belt service. Dayco 100k belt.
- h20 system service
- full suspension overhaul: 4x Bilstein shocks, control arm bushings, sway bar links, lower ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, shock mounts, bump stops, dust boots, etc. The works.
- full brakes: 4x calipers, 4 rotors and 2 sets of pads.
Mechanically ready for another 200K.
Dad had it painted when he first bought it because the paint was crappy. Guy painted in with single stage. The paint has faded. Looks like satin black- cool to some and maybe not everyone? But if not, it does readily buff up.
Front and rear heated leather seats. In mint shape. Seats out of newer Beetle and air bag and heated seat wiring not hooked up- so air bag light on in dash.
All glass is good. Llumar lifetime tint.
Sitting on 15" 5 spoke VW alloys with 80% rubber. 2 front match brands. Rears are non brand matching but same tread pattern and tread depth.
Non-smoker.
Engine starts and operates great. Turbo spools nicely and VNT operates as it should.
AC in-op. Not diagnosed. could just need a charge ?
Dad bought my sister's '03 ALH 5 speed wagon. That's the only reason for the sale.
