ive got a skid plate at home waiting to get installed though.

You might want to think about getting a new pan.. They aren't that expensive.

Looks like a stick on oil heater to me. I see the impression of the heater and looks like the cord came out the end.

Exactly my thought...
the silicone pad type oil pan heaters leave marks like that!!

ive got a panzer plate sitting in my back yard since january that im too lazy to put on... plus it looks tough to install!!

when im done on this vacation I for sure will... snows already coming and those ice chunks on the highway get pretty nasty.

If you have all the mounting hardware for the plate it is a straightforward install.
The hardest part is maneuvering the plate around.
I set it on top of my floor jack to move it into place.

Install is cake. Couple hours couple beers done.
