My 2.0 tdi cfhc has started to go into some sort of protection mode - I get a obd code p0299 turbo underboost and another code 483237 which my cheep obd reader has no explanation for - is it a VCDS code? Can any one help with the meaning of this code

That's the problem with generic readers. Underboost. Could be cracked boost pipe, the vanes not moving. The vane actuator itself. Out if adjustment. You still under emissions warrenty? 5 yr 51k miles since time of modification. If it is, bring it in with the light on. It'll be fixed for free.
