Hello,
On checking the steering fluid level do you:
1-Unscrew lid, wipe off dipstick
2-Screw the dipstick all the way back then unscrew it again to get the level in or just sit it on the reservoir to get the correct level?
I ask because most (pre 1990's) motorcycles have screw-in dipsticks and to get the level you unscrew it, wipe it off and then let the dipstick sit on the edge of the opening rather than screw it all the way back in.
It's rather confusing to be honest and many motorcycles ended up overfilled w/oil leading to leaking cylinder head gaskets.
