CEL P20E8 Adblue

Putting this here for posterity and hopefully will save someone in the future.

I'm at about 39K miles and got a check engine light, shows code P20E8 in VCDS and ODBII reader.

After taking to the dealer they say I have a small hole in the line that runs from the adblue tank to the adblue injector. This is out of warranty (3/36) since I'm out of warranty at 39K. I do have the extended warranty which covers this but still a $100 deductible.
Following up with VWoA to open a case to determine if this can be covered.

I would think that is part of the emissions control system which is covered for 80,000 miles.

nope!

Only the DPF which is considered a Cat is diesel specific on our cars is covered by the Federal 80K emissions, other big ticket item is the ECU.

That exhaust flap that goes out at 60K? not covered by the Fed either, only covered by VW's good heart.

The "law" hasn't been updated since 1993, only freshly interpreted.

I know frustrating right?
