So i have another thread about a no start issue but i dont think im going to get an answer to this question there.

05 mk4 BEW Auto.

My car wont start and if i crank it for a while it will throw p0727.

Cant figure out whats wrong with it. But if i start it with starter fluid, it will start right up and run great with no codes. The tach works too. Then it starts right up after that.

Cant figure out why this code is even showing up if the tach is still working.

Just dont want to be chasing something wasting effort.

Seems like a prime or something.

Is your in-tank pump working? The fuel filter should be full at all times if it is. Otherwise you need a proper scan with VCDS.

So did making 2 threads for the same issue help?
Seems you have it working by replacing a defective speed (crank) sensor, eh
