it has 1 pulse per rev and yes its a VR sensor. use LM1815 to convert to 0-5v

I have N but datasheet should say what different suffix is. You can look up the type of the sensor. I think newer unit have more intelligent sensor that gives TTL output. The brand is Jaquet.

Well vfiz reads whats on the ecu so that would work what input are you using ?

every actuator you delete apart from egr cooler bypass has a analog feeback signal that you can use.

Going to piggyback on this, can you split the signal as such without upsetting was the ECU see's?

I want to create my next gauge soon and want to use the speed sensor if poss otherwise will do something with an inductive sensor on the crank pulley.

edit: still interested in answer but realised I meant crank sensor....opps
