Hi,Sold our TDI back to VW on December 22nd. Arrived early and had the check in our credit union before the scheduled appointment time. Guys were commenting about how nice our car looked.
Next day, went to Midlothian and picked up our 2013 Miata GT. Do not recommend Haley Toyota. They required us to go through the OFAC. Not required for a cash sale. Wife was pissed. In addition they ran the battery down because whomever processed the car left the ignition on, and both seat warmers were on. They jump started it and left engine running then to charge up the battery. Car and battery seem to be fine now. Only 8,800 miles on it from original owner.
Now have all Japanese: 2005 Tacoma, 2016 Mazda3 sGT, 2013 Miata GT and JD 2025R tractor (all Japanese parts; assembled here).
Turned car in 02/06/2017. VW credit loan payed off today 03/01/2017; 15 business days give-or-take.Turned in my 2013 JSW this past Monday and was complete in less than 10 minutes. EFT within 48hrs.
Dealers are allowed to discount, but VW was not allowed to give loyalty discounts. I'm sure most dealers would if you were serious. Congrats.Completed the buyback on my '12 SE last Friday. The process was quick--less than a couple of minutes, with2 very friendly and competent folks. They were very complimentary of our car, saying it was the cleanest one they'd seen (ours had 100300+ miles). Since they weren't busy they were very happy to answer our questions and talk about their experiences etc. Our money was in out account first thing this morning (EFT) .
We are now proud and satisfied owners of a Silk blue Alltrack SE with Driver assistance package. Dealer was incredible to work with--and gave is a great deal.
Thanks VW, this how to win people back, and/or retain the loyal! (Compare this in scale, amount, and speed of action to GM's ignition lock, Takata's air bag fiasco, to name a few).
Cheers.
....... like cash for clunkers 2.0 ---Returned my TDI yesterday, 10,000 miles past due on all maintenance, check engine light for leaking DPF and insufficient flowing EGR, non-functional AC, 4 bald and mismatched tires, blown shocks, no car wash since 9/15, and driven HARD since the news dropped that it would be bought back. The buyback ambassador didn't even try starting the car to see if it ran.
Decontenting my TDI of personal items on last day of turning it in at the dealer. It has been a great car to have and drive.
At BB timeI wonder if the jack and tools in our '10 TDI would be missed if I were to remove them before buyback? I'm not saying I'd do it, but if the jack would work on a new 2017 Golf or Golf Sportwagen, it might be handy in my garage.
I don't think that our guy even looked in the trunk. He didn't say anything about the missing floor mats and broken radio. We bought the OEM rubber floor mats and didn't hang onto the original mats. We sure were not going to turn in the car with any of the accessories that we had purchased for it (HD radio, rubber floor mats, splash guards, cargo blocks, trunk handle). If I had been real vindictive, I would have peeled off the clear bra and window tinting.I wonder if the jack and tools in our '10 TDI would be missed if I were to remove them before buyback? Received mine last night at about 11:15, turned around and created my Chase account, updated the bank routing information, and have a pending deposit inMine was almost midnight est.
Thanks for this got mine last night and completed this morning. The Chase emails go out in the evening--my last one was a little after 11:00 pm EST.
Jeez. Hopefully the other specialist understands the rules now. Maybe s/he conflated 2015 buybacks with lease terminations or something.A little bit of drama turning in the Jetta today-there were two buy back specialists, and one wanted to decline the car because of a crack in the rear view mirror. Was told that wasn't normal wear and tear, and that only normal wear and tear would be allowed for 2015's because the 2015's would be resold.
Was told it wouldn't matter if it was a 2009 or a 2010 because all of those were getting crushed anyways. Second buy back specialist, the woman I had my appointment with, closed the transaction and apologized for the other specialist.
