Button click under accelerator pedal on 2014 Jetta Sedan DSG TDI...

Okay, I hope I'm not hallucinating but there is a definite "click" or switch under the accelerator pedal when pressed fully to the floor/firewall.

Is this just "Wide Open Throttle" or is this a part of some "Launch Control" sequence that's not included on this model VW?

Yes that click is normal, my 2014 with DSG has it too. I believe it's designed to simulate a kick down without actually having a physical switch. I'd say it's more of a pedal stop feedback.
My dsg ecu is tuned so it deactivates it in manual mode so no up or downshift unless you do it
