Bi xenon light question

So I picked up my 2015 golf tdi today. Really like it. It has the premium light package. There appear to be 2 led rings in each headlight. I am only able to turn on the outside rings that surround the hid lamps. The inside rings (closest to the grill! Do not turn on. Am I doing something wrong or do the inside rings not light?

No it's normal. Only the R lights those up unless you the get aftermarket versions.
