hi guys , I got a b6 tdi 140 , and recently took it to the mot test centre , this is a uk legal requirement , the car is tested for mechanical defects and emissions. ( for our friends across the pond ) whilst there the guy pointed out that some of my led,s are not lighting and some are flashing , to my knowledge they do not blow so is there a fix to this problem and if not is it worth buying copies from Poland for £50 a unit or are they utter sh%$e ?
cheers
richie:)

What LEDs? As far as I know the B6 Passat doesn't have any. Aftermaket?

You should just disconnect them, and you'll pass MOT. The main headlamp housings have the required marker lamps next to the dipped beam.

Hmmm I don't know why, but I was thinking about the front end that day.

See section 1 of the MOT for private passenger cars. As long as 50% of the lamp illuminates, it is a pass.

If you do want to fix them, I wouldn't use any counterfeit parts. My experience with them is that they are junk. Replacing LED chips isn't terribly difficult if some of them are bad (and they do fail), but you need at least some SMD rework experience for best results.
