Well had it done at 206,000 on march 2nd.
Where I go he is fair price and knows what he's doing.
Water pump $400.00 up here at the dealer at the time.
A week later he tells me VW lowered the water pump price by 200 bucks, which is good eh, so my bill 200 less!!
Dealers want 7 hrs., labour to do it, $135.00 an hour.
He will be 5 hrs., at his rate of I believe 90.
Used all OEM parts as they are 2 year warranty and unlimited mileage.

what is the recommended first timing belt change mileage? I thought I saw in the manual that it was 60,000 or 65,000 miles.

Thanks for clarification Mrrogers, it was not clear to me whether that was a first TB change or a subsequent change.

I would not go more then 100K-110K in City driving or 6 years. City driving Stop and go gives lot of stress to t/Belt. This is my recommendation .
If you do lot of HWY then 120k-130k is Ok .

My Guru changed mine this month. I opted for 120K. He charged $900 parts labor, cracked a DEF fitting, cost me $120 more. He said first CVCA, he would not do another one @ $900.........A real *****. He has done 3 belts on my ALH before.
