Absolutely. I did. I had just under 60k on the 2010 Jetta TDI 6MT and considered keeping it until the wheels either fell off or the motor imploded after a long life.
Test drove the Passat TDI SE w/DSG. More room, way more room. More comfort, way more comfort. I liked the DSG too. And the Jetta was the only car in the past 14 years without auto climate control and auto headlights.
So I was suckered into the Passat TDI for room, comfort, DSG, same fuel economy and automated climate control and headlights.
If you are a frugal sort and under 5'-10", keep the Jetta because the new Passat isn't worth it. But if you can spare few $$, are taller than 6'-3" and think bigger is better (with the same fuel economy), than the Passat TDI is calling your name.

certainly, wife traded her 2011 (with 36,400 miles) jetta for 2012 Passat TDI. they gave her $ 600 more than she owed on it.
