I wonder how hard it would be to convert to an alh motor, because you could get a good alh and tranny for not too much anymore, less than 3500 for sure.

The biggest issue is the risk that there is more damage than these components. Is that a crease on the front driver's side fender?

Yep, that's the risk. This isn't an ideal car for someone unfamiliar with their nuances.

The risks here, however, are minimized by a single owner and demonstrated care for the car. That's not a crease in the front bumper; that's dirty water runoff from a storm a week ago when we got an unusual amount of rain here. The only damage is depicted, above, around the gas cap.
