I'd like to have some opinions on either leaving the car battery disconnected on a Golf MK VI (once topped up) or have it on a battery tender if the vehicle is going to be parked up around a year at a time. What are your thoughts?

Hey guys - I have a crack that has developed on the plastic shroud that surrounds the bottom seat on the driver's side. Does anyone know if I need to remove the seat entirely to install this replacement part? Cheers.
