Hi,

does anyone have any technical information on how the electronic actuators on the VK turbos work? (gtb1756vk, gtb2056vk, gtb2260vk)

I'd like to build a circuit that controls the vanes with the original actuator, but don't know where to start.

Thanks!

Thanks, I have read that one before, but it doesn't help understand how the non-PWM actuators work. One possibility is to convert to PWM-controlled electronics and build a cicuit to controll that but I was hoping that a more direct route was possible.

This is planned for a car that doesn't have an ECU to begin with (1.6TD)

Thanks for the informative links, it definitely puts the last nail in the coffin for the CAN based controller:

"The CAN system is way more complex then just sending PWM signals on the data wires.. its a whole system with a master controller
and each "node" ( the vnt controller is a node ) communicates back to the main system. The master system does not just send a signal to open
and close the VNT it sends full message packets in CANbus protocol."
