Default can i delete this water pipe?

hi after a bit of advice, 1.9pd ASZ
does anyone know exactly what the green arrowed pipe is for?
basically on my conversion i'd like to route it from the yellow arrow directly to the header tank which is on the red arrow
with mine being rwd this is all behind the bulkhead and the header tank is now where the bulkhead was on the golf
do i need the green pipe for it to run ok or is it just to aid bleeding it up?

thanks for any help

coolant bleed line... mine (on tacoma swap) is routed to the upper rad hose near where it enters radiator. It's ok to run it to the header tank as long as it's near the highest point in the cooling system.

what if i got yellow arrow pipe to header tank and just delete the green arrow pipe?
so i have no tee in it ?

or do i need the green arrow part? if i do i'll tee into the top hose on the rad but it would be easy if i didnt need it

my truck does not have a header tank so i plumbed the bleed directly into the upper rad hose... it'll be fine plumbed into the header tank without a "T" from the upper rad hose... just make sure header is the high point of the system.

The bleed hose is to remove air from the system at the highest point so using it as a return is a good idea, splicing it to return is as well.
