Help with immobilizer (immo3 cluster in immo2 car)

Greetings all -

I have put an FIS immo3 cluster in my car. I followed ross-tech instructions to the letter, and have attempted advice on this thread as well:

http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=364979

Both keys work: they unlock/lock the car and start the car.

The immobilizer warning is activated, however, and the light is flashing.

In vcds, in Instruments, in Adaptation, 21, two keys are listed. The Save button is ALWAYS greyed out. TEST gives an error.

In Instruments, Login, I put the correct login in and get no errors. I simply hit Done/Go back and I receive no complaints whatsoever.

This is where I think something is hinky but have no clue.

It MAY be something entirely different. The stalk is not yet in due to airbag removal problems, for example. It may be something else. I have attempted to get into the Immobilizer controller, but that doesn't seem to help anything in there (Login fails, for example).

I am heading out on a long trip tomorrow and have no further time today.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jud.

Go to 01 Engine and read adaptation ch 91 and tell me do you have 1 or 4.

Go to 17 instruments

Also clear any fault codes from the instrument cluster, that really holds things up.

I've just fitted my 5th set now, 3rd set in my own car, went for the full fis also. It's a really nice upgrade.

Anyway that clearing the faults was the thing I was missing last time but after I did that the rest was super easy.

I went into 21 and entered 0, hit test and save then entered the number of keys and did the same, all worked perfect.

Just a little something to spur you on

Mine are VDO so I used the vag tacho and did the lit needles and miles to empty

And thanks to jetta ,97 ^^^ I'm also going to do the welcome message :D

Ooh gotta do the welcome message!

I cleared the fault codes. Any value I enter for number of keys gives an error when tested. Save key always greyed.

I do think the code is wrong but haven't had a chance to play with it any more.

I drove up and back to Andover, Mass with that light blinking. Adjusted the steering wheel so I didn't have to look at it. Pretty cluster; can't wait to get the wiper stalk in as well.

What the....????

ECU has immo delete. What does this mean?

I have rc3...does that make a difference? I had issues before. Can't remember what it was. (I have an auto convered to a manual.) Maybe Jeff at Rocketchips has the answer....???

How weird is this?! How do I get the ECU to undelete the immobilizer...???

Pfft now you're asking! Lol I think that's a tuner job, maybe built into the software or that. Only time I've seen it reinstated was by replacing the ecu. Dead easy with immo 2 though as I found out not long ago.

Thanks all for the help. I sent Jeff an IM as I was thinking of running up there to have other work done. Hopefully it will all work out.

Dear all,

I think I have a problem with my B5.5 Passat tdi.

The car starts fine, but immo light stays blinking and my cluster console beeps and writes "Immobilier active".

I removed the RFID chip form my key fob and the car also starts fine with the same above symptoms.

Could any one help me?

Thx,
Med

It's quite simple, here is a photo of the instruments cluster before the car starts.

I will post another photo of the cluster when the engine is running.

No I get what you're saying, I just don't know why. You're saying the car runs fine even with the immo light flashing and the chip removed from the key fob right? But the chip in the fob is to deactivate the immo when you put the key in the ignition and that doesn't make sense. Only thing that comes to mind is the immo has maybe been deleted from the ecu.

Also you'll need to learn about posting pics, check out the home page, I' think it's on there somewhere.

Sorry

Most likely you have Immobilizer delete in ECU.
Please open new thread and I will tell you few things what to do.
It would be nice not to jump in other people thread and start discussion.
I'm really sorry for my ignorance.

I will open a new thread. And I will explain all the problems that i have with this car.

Cheers,
Med
