My grandfather had a 1978 Ford F-250 as his boat-towing truck, weekend work truck, and odds/ends truck. He had it up until about 2001. It had a few problems that came over the years like one of the fuel tanks springing a leak (dual tank truck) so he could only use the front tank, and then the timing chain jumped a sprocket or two. He gave the truck to a neighbor to use as a beater truck instead of spending a lot of money to fix it, and he bought a 2000 Mazda B3000 that he used up until he died in 2003.
I so badly wished I was in a position to keep his truck and fix it up, but never in my life have I had a good job, so I had to just bid farewell to memories.
I want a sixth generation Ford F-250 with a Cummins 4BT engine under the hood. Mildly built, nothing outrageous.

Something like this?

The reason I have so many ars is that I cant decide on one...or three....or whatever...so I buy cars based on the things they have that benefit me. But as far as my latest Tdi...if I could have my NMS with an inline 6 2.0 turbodiesel...I'd be happy.

a luxury but 4wd capable American Fullsize SUV with 30 plus MPG...... Oh wait!... Chrysler has announced the WK2 to have that VM Motori V6 out for 2014. (available after April 1st) ... Only it is rated for 28 MPG HWY....Bet you I can hyper mile it to above 30!
2nd wish vehicle is a JKU Rubicon with all the off road options like factory 4" lift. With that same motor
(hopefully out by 2015....)

Ya, you'll probably average 18-22mpg combined driving it like a normal human being.. And since when is a Grand Cherokee a full-size SUV? full-size is a Durango LOL..

I'd be perfectly happy with a diesel powered Wrangler that has about the same power output as the 4.0 I-6..

Are you LOLing at the idea of a Durango being full-size, or stating that a Durango is full-size and a Grand Cherokee isn't?

Because in 2013, a Durango is basically a badge engineered Grand Cherokee.

(But, I'm thinking more of a Tahoe or a Suburban being full-size. Not that the Durango or Grand Cherokee are far off the Tahoe.)

Are the Durango/Aspen and Grand Cherokee now on the same Chassis in 2013+?

The GC's were always smaller, skinnier, different suspension/brakes etc versus the Durango..

Tahoe vs Suburban was always just a length/wheelbase thing on the 1500 series trucks.. My Blazer is just a short version of a 1500 Suburban, 6.5 diesel drivetrain and everything haha.. They use the same fenders, hood, doors, suspension, brakes, 90% of the interior etc..

While the Durango and Grand Cherokee are similar, badge-engineered suggests there are merely cosmetic differences which is not the case. They utilize the same chassis architecture, but the Grand Cherokee is a 2-row SUV while the Durango adds an additional 5" in wheelbase and 10" in overall length to become a 3-row SUV.
Regardless, the 3.0 diesel is a pretty steep $4500 MSRP option that may limit its appeal outside of those of us that already believe in compression ignition.

Ah, didn't realize they lengthened the Durango.

But, it is the same unibody platform since 2011. (And there's a Maserati on that platform, too, IIRC.)

Yeah, it's coming or so they've been saying for many years at this point.
I read earlier this week the previously planned Grand Wagoneer has been cancelled. It was essentially going to replace the slow-selling Durango and become a more premium 3-row Jeep-styled SUV even more like a long Grand Cherokee.

I wish I had a pic of this. Car show buddy had a Rwd Dodge Cummins chassis with a very familiar '69 Dodge Charger body. Nice at the local show. I wish I had the car, not just the pic.

The understeer would be incredible from all that nose weight, but it'd sure be a beauty.

I've always been a fan of pre-WWII design. A nice early '30s 4-door sedan with a strong I4 or I6 diesel driving the rear wheels would make for a lovely cruiser.

A diesel minivan that got mid 30s or higher would be nice. I need a family hauler, not horsepower.

I'm sure a PD/Tiptronic drivetrain would go really nice into a late 90's/early 00's caravan/voyager/Town&Country... VNT17 and a tune and it'll have similar power output as the 3.0V6 (maybe even the 3.8) and do fairly well on fuel..
